Virgin to introduce major rear-end update at Monza

Team principal John Booth explains, "we had an update in the pipeline for Silverstone... we did not think it was worth the effort at the time. But as Pat looked into it a bit deeper, he thought it was well worth doing. It will pull the whole back of the car in much tighter... Much of the design work was done; it was just a question of tidying it up and accommodating it."

bestofbritish   Jenson Button
Oooh, I'm looking forward to seeing that Virgin with a tight back end.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Don't hold your breath Button, I reckon they'll still be bringing up the rear this weekend.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Apparently the update had been "in the pipe" for Silverstone, I wonder why they waited until now.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
I believe they had it put on the back burner before they decided to look into it a bit deeper.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Look into what a bit deeper?
fernando   Fernando Alonso
The wind tunnel, I presume.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Christ, don't do that. Though I suppose it is the best place to see the effects of playing with the exhaust.
Booth   John Booth
Very funny boys. Like I said, the package was pretty much ready a while ago, it was just a question of tidying it up and accommodating it.
bestofbritish   Jenson Button
No need to tidy up your package to be accommodated by this rear end.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Don't be "cheeky" Button or you might get a Booth in the arse.
MBrundle   Martin Brundle
Speaking of tight at the back, looks like it's going to be another close-fought constructor's championship.
DC   David Coulthard
What are you on about Martin? Red Bull are clearly running away with it.
MBrundle   Martin Brundle
Jesus David, I said at the back. We've got three teams on zero points again this year.
CoalInCoals   Colin Kolles
Yet more value added by the smaller teams - it's always exciting when a championship is so close it's decided on countback.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Right Kolles, I'm sure there's some anorak out there that cares about your epic battle for most 13th places.
mikeg   Mike Gascoyne
Ha, thanks to Jarno we've got two. Suck it Kolles. Next stop, the midfield.
NotVirgin   Richard Branson
Crap, we haven't even come 13th yet? This is my worst idea since Virgin condoms.
