Pick-up truck fire causes damage to Monaco track

26 May 2011 - Source
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Pick-up truck? Sounds like Raikonnen or Montoya are trying to bring redneck racing to Europe.
jpm   Juan Pablo Montoya
I don't race trucks man, I drive a sleek sprint car.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Wouldn't be the first time you ruined a Monaco GP. You nearly killed me in 2004.
jpm   Juan Pablo Montoya
If you brake-test someone in the tunnel, you're gonna be in a wreck, man.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
I'm sure the rules on braking are different when there's a SAFETY CAR in front of you. Safety was never something you went for though, was it Montoya?
jpm   Juan Pablo Montoya
We each gotta look after ourselves man. I can't keep track of 20 other cars. I see me, and that guy in front, that's it.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
See that guy in front, drive through him. I think you're the only "driver" who's actually caused more crashes than my useless brother.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
They're both fairly fond of taking out their own team mates too.
rondennis   Ron Dennis
That's why I fired the prick too. Apparently nothing's changed - he tried to take out his team-mate twice in Daytona this year.
ej   Eddie Jordan
That was a terrible team-leader decision Ron. You need to run it like a business, not a racing outfit. I kept Ralf on until the cost of car repairs exceeded the merchandising revenue from his German fans.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
It was like value Michael Schumacher merchandise for the poor. If you'd made them in red and made the "Ralf" removable, you'd probably still have a team.
jackie   Jackie Stewart
Your racing car is equipped with mirrors for a reason Juan Pablo. You should check them at regular 5 second intervals, and also when you intend to change lanes or overtake, regardless of traffic conditions at the time. Remember, don't just be safe, be seen to be safe.
